Leicester City Council have decided to crush cars that have been componded after 90 days if owners don't pay up their parking tickets!

When we are fighting environmental change on a global scale heading for disaster I think they could be a lot more inventive about how to handle unpaid parking fines!

Crushing a vehicle is just irresponsible!

For instance, how about transfering the ownership of the vehicle to a neutral third party which could then sell them by auction and raise money for local charities and good causes.

If they did this the car would be recycled and used by another owner and the money raised could go back into helping local people.

If we had a scheme in Alfreton - Charities like Alfreton Shopmobility would not have to rely so heavily on grants and would be able to offer a much valued service for longer.

Incidentally, if you have ideas of raising funds for Alfreton Shopmobility I am sure they would welcome your support and contributions.
