SPECULATION concerning Alfreton Town Football Club manager Nicky Law’s departure away from the Impact Arena is just that.

Rumours circulated over the weekend that Law had quit the Reds and been appointed as manager of UniBond League First Division North club Bradford Park Avenue.

That is simply not the case and Law is still under contract to Alfreton Town Football Club.

Reds chairman Wayne Bradley said: “Alfreton Town Football Club has had no approach from any football club to request permission to speak to Nicky Law.

“He is contracted to Alfreton Town and is contracted for a three year period which commenced last May.

“I have spoken to Nicky today over the matter and he acknowledges his contractual obligations to Alfreton Town Football Club and he has no desire to want to go anywhere else.

“I have also acknowledged to him that I have no interest in releasing him from his contractual obligations and more importantly, I am very comfortable that Nicky Law remains positively Alfreton Town FC’s manager.

“This is not a case of him reluctantly being at the helm now, indeed far from it. We value him very highly.

“I cannot comment on the Bradford Park Avenue issue as I have had no contact from that club.”

Nicky Law is currently on a short holiday and has been since last Friday.
