Alfreton Town's Derbyshire Senior Cup third round tie at home to Holbrook MW tonight (Thursday, January 17) has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch despite the heroic, day-long efforts of groundsman Dick Dennett.

He had got the surface playable before the thunderstorm struck around 1.30pm and has unfortunately fought a losing battle in between the showers that have followed.

The game has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, January 23rd (7.45pm).
